In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Ike Young accounted for 401 yards of total offense and Carter Foran broke the 200 receiving yards threshold as Monticello rolled past IVC 52-14 in Illini Prairie Conference high school football action Friday in Chillicothe.

Young was a cool 19-for-24 through the air with 342 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also had nine carries for 52 yards and four touchdowns.

He hit Foran for nine receptions and 231 yards and both touchdowns.

The seniors connected on touchdowns of 53 yards and 39 yards.

Monticello led 36-0 at the half and held the Grey Ghosts to 37 yards of total offense in the first half.

But IVC started the second half inspired and marched right down the field when senior quarterback Bryce Radcliffe hit Brynden Coventry for an 11-yard touchdown.

On the ensuing kickoff, the ball bounced off the hands of a frontline Monticello special teams player and IVC jumped on the loose ball setting up the second score of the quarter when Radcliffe ran in a score from eight yards out to make it 36-14.

Monticello senior Matt Swartz scored from five yards out on the next possession on an option play for his first touchdown of the season.

Swartz also recorded a sack on defense.

Nolan Beuhnerkemper hauled in six receptions for 81 yards Friday.

Radcliffe finished 11 for 18 and threw for 122 yards with a touchdown.
