If you're going to be a playoff football team, you're going to have to travel and take care of the details.
Coach Ron Bass says his Clinton Maroons football team was not ready to play Friday night in its 35-7 win over Alton Marquette on the road in non-conference high school football action. Despite that, he notes the kids buckled down and were able to come out with the win.
Coach Bass credited Alton Marquette for their game plan and the ability to slow the Maroons' offense but also praised his team's ability to respond to adversity.
Keaton Graves and Colton Walker continue to pace the Maroons offense. Coach Bass points out Graves did a good job leading the team when they needed a score and Walker continues to make an impact on both sides of the ball.
It's Homecoming Week at Clinton High School. The Maroons host Tremont Friday night. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms starting at 7 pm.
