In a game heard on WEZC, Monticello made quick work of Clinton in two sets 25-20 and 25-15 in non-conference high volleyball action at the Sievers Center in Monticello Monday.
Clinton controlled the early part of the first set and led 12-11 but Monticello would rally and finish out the first set on a 14-9 run to go up 1-0.
In the second set, the Lady Maroons never found any momentum as the Lady Sages gradually pulled away to the 25-15, two-set win.
It was a balanced attack for Monticello. Standout Sierrah Downey had 13 assists, six digs, and five kills. Emerson Snook at five kills while Addison Finet had 14 assists.
Cassidee Stoffel added six kills, eight digs, and an assist. Libero Mady Melton had 16 digs with an ace. Alice Swanson recorded six kills.
Clinton falls to 3-8 overall. Monticello moves to 9-4.
Clinton hosts Decatur Eisenhower Wednesday.
Monticello travels to Mt. Zion on Thursday.
