Monticello football coach Cully Welter believes there's still more for his football team to achieve this year.

After Monticello handled 5A Mattoon 40-14, Coach Welter felt his team is getting closer to playing a complete, four quarter game. 

Coming into the Sages matchup with Mattoon, Coach Welter was looking for more from his lines and felt they did a lot of things well in the win.

With the score 20-7, Monticello executed a flawless drive down the late in the second quarter with under a minute left and then came out and scored on the opening possession of the second half. Coach Welter felt that was a huge moment in the game.

Monticello battles Bloomington Central Catholic Friday night in Bloomington. The Saints are 2-1 on the season.
