It was a busy week for Monticello football.

Of its upset win over Williamsville last week, Carter Foran broke the school's single-season receiving yards record. Coach Cully Welter says it is quite an accomplishment given the excellent skill players that have come through his program over the years.

This week, Seniors Ike Young and Mason High were named to the Class 3A All-State teams. Coach Welter believes Monticello might have three all-state players but he's happy for those two to receive a recognition like that.
 

Young also signed his National Letter of Intent to pitch at Illinois next year. Coach Welter credits him for rising up the baseball boards quickly given where he was just a year ago.

Monticello takes on Benton on Saturday in Class 3A quarterfinal action in Monticello.
