The Clinton Maroons will tip off its 2024-25 boys basketball season tonight when they open play at the Bill Ruck's Memorial Holiday Tournament in Mt. Pulaski taking on Buffalo Tri-City.
Off its second consecutive 25-win season last year under Coach Vic Binkley, the Maroons will have a lot of production to replace, as three 1,000 scorers from last year's squad graduate out.
Coach Binkley has been around long enough to know when young players have to compete against kids like Mason Walker, Dawson Graves, and Brooks Cluver every day in practice, they are going to get better.
Anthony Westbrooks has recovered from an elbow injury and is showing great improvement. Coach Binkley adds they've got some young kids shooting the ball well in pre-season practices so far as well.
Game time tonight is 5 pm from Mt. Pulaski. Hear all the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms. Also get a schedule of this year's Maroons boys and girls basketball broadcast schedule at the home page at dewittdailynews.com.
