HS GBBall: Clinton Tops Athens

Carly Anderson scored a game-high 20 points and Clinton withstood a late rally from Athens to win 68-57 Tuesday night in non-conference high school girls basketball action from Athens High School.

 

The Lady Maroons trailed 15-14 after one quarter but was gradually able to pull out to a 32-27 halftime lead and led 51-36 after three quarters.

 

Lyla Cluver added 18 points while Clara Dempsey scored 16 points to lead Clinton.

 

The Lady Maroons made nine three-pointers for the game. They improve to 3-2 overall while Athens drops to 0-3. 

 

Clinton is back in action Monday night hosting Tolono Unity.
