Coming off a first round road victory at Southeast Missouri State, No. 12 Illinois State (10-3, 6-2 MVFC) will fly to the West Coast for a match up with No. 5 UC Davis (10-2, 7-1 Big Sky) in the second round of the 2024 FCS Playoffs with a berth in the quarterfinals on the line.

Illinois State and UC Davis will meet for the first time in program history.

Illinois State's first-round playoff win at Southeast Missouri State was one to remember for the Redbird defense, which forced a school-record eight turnovers in the win against the Redhawks. 

The UC Davis offense is led by two of the best offensive players in the nation in running back Lan Larison and quarterback Miles Hastings, who were named as Walter Payton Award finalists following historic seasons that saw them set program records and finish near the top of numerous offensive categories.

Game time is 3 pm central time on Saturday.
