A big third quarter propelled Maroa-Forsyth past Clinton 72-37 in its season opener Friday in non-conference high school boy's basketball action from Maroa.
The Trojans led 29-23 at halftime, however, Caebrin Lee and Coby Lane combined for 21 of the 29 points for the Trojans to expand its lead to 48-38.
Lee led all scorers with 26 points. Lane added 22 points. Ian Reid contributed 11 points for Maroa-Forsyth.
Colton Walker led the Maroons with 15 points while Keaton Graves scored 12 points.
The Maroons drop to 3-3 overall while Maroa-Forsyth is 1-0 on the year.
Clinton played at the Ben Thielen Shootout in Edinburg opposite Pleasant Plains.
Maroa-Forsyth hosts Decatur St. Teresa on Tuesday night.
