HS BBBall: Maroa-Forsyth Tops ALAH

Maroa-Forsyth got two big performances to propel them past Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond 69-41 from day one action at the Decatur St. Teresa Christmas tournament Monday afternoon.

Coby Lane scored 13 of his game-best 23 points in the second quarter while Kenny Morris added 20 points for the Trojans.

Ian Reid and Declan Shannon each added ten points for Maroa-Forsyth who moved to 4-3 overall.

Monday's matchup was particularly special for Maroa-Forsyth Coach Aaron Ennis. His longtime assistant, Kenny Parks took over the Knights basketball program this year and the two squared off for the first time Monday.

Kendall Schrock led ALAH with 12 points - the only player to reach double figures. The Knights drop to 1-9 overall.

Tournament action in Decatur resumes on Friday. Maroa-Forsyth battles Judah Christian at 7:30 pm. ALAH takes on Central A&M on at 6 pm.
