A slow start was too much for Monticello to overcome as Tri-Valley rolled Monticello 56-42 in high school girl's basketball action from the first day of Monticello Holiday Hoopla play.

The Lady Sages downed Ridgeview in Thursday's opener. 

In its second game of the day, despite leading after the first quarter 9-8 but a 21-5 second quarter allowed the Lady Vikings to lead 29-14 at the break.

Monticello rebounded to trail 39-35 after three but could not complete the comeback. 

Sara Cresap paced Monticello with 17 points. Megan Allen grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds and scored six points. Ali Weidner added eight points. 

The Lady Sages wrap up pool play from the Hoopla Friday afternoon at 2 pm taking on Tuscola.
