In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, it was a struggle from the opening to the final horn as Paxton-Buckley-Loda rolled Monticello 46-25 in Illini Prairie Conference action Friday in Paxton.
It was the lowest output for the Sages under Coach Kevin Roy - one game after his team secured the school’s 1750th win Tuesday in a route of Olympia.
The Sages shot just 14.9 percent from the floor and went an abysmal 2-of-26 from three-point range.
While PBL shot 53 percent as a team, they committed 18 turnovers.
The win was the first Illini Prairie Conference victory for the Panthers who improved to 1-3 in the league and 8-10 overall.
The tough loss Friday sets Monticello back to 11-9 overall and 1-2 in the Illini Prairie Conference. They jump back into league play with a home game Tuesday against Prairie Central. Game time is 7 pm. Hear the action on 95.9 FM WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com.
