Clinton used a fast start and rolled in its Central Illinois Conference tournament opener in a 56-31 win over Warrensburg-Latham in high school girl's basketball from Clinton High School on Saturday afternoon.

The top-seeded Lady Maroons jumped out to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Saturday's win came on the heels of a 49-14 win for Clinton over Warrensburg-Latham Thursday night at Clinton High School.

Lila Cluver and Carly Anderson led the Lady Maroons with 17 points apiece. Reagan Filkin added 12 points.

The girl's Central Illinois Conference tournament is a round-robin format between two, three-team pools. The tournament is at Clinton High School this year.

The Lady Maroons return to action Tuesday night when they take on Central A&M. Game time is 7:30 pm. Hear the action on WHOW and all its digital platforms.
