HS GBBall: Clinton Blows Out Central A&M in CIC Semi-Finals

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Lady Maroons rolled the Central A&M Lady Raiders by a final score of 66-24 in the Semi-Finals of the Central Illinois Conference Tournament from Clinton High School in girls high school basketball action Tuesday night. 

 

The Maroons outscored the Raiders in the first quarter by a score of 16-5. Clinton was led by the Servpro of Piatt/DeWitt Counties Player of the Game Clara Dempsey who scored 19 points and played a pivotal role in the teams fast break scoring. Carly Anderson added 18 points while Regan Filkin chipped in with 11. The Maroons scored well as a team, with 8 players putting points on the board. 

 

The Raiders were led by Lyndi Woods who scored 12 points and made 7 free throws. Emma west added 6 points, and Kylee Snearly chipped in with 4. 

 

With the win, the Maroons improve to 20-5 while Central A&M falls to 8-16. 

 

Clinton will go on to play Tuscola in the Central Illinois Conference Championship on Thursday night, tip off is at 8 PM.
