HS BBBall: Olympia Downs Maroa-Forsyth

Owen Alford scored 12 of his game-best 28 points in the first quarter and helped Olympia start fast and take care of Maroa-Forsyth 71-63 in Sangamo Conference high school boy's basketball action Tuesday in Maroa. 

 

Three players scored in double figures for the Spartans who led 22-11 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 39-30 at the half.

 

Alford sank 5-of-6 free throws late but Olympia made 12-of-22 free throws in the fourth quarter allowing the Trojans to hang around late.

 

The depleted Trojans were led by Mitch Williams with 17 points. Brady Doss added 13 points and Kenny Morris scored ten points.

 

Carson Birky chipped in with 13 points for Olympia and Ian Tackett scored ten points.

 

The Spartans go to 8-10 overall. The Trojans are 8-9 and drop to 0-2 in the Sangamo Conference.
