HS BBBall: Clinton Takes Down Central A&M

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Central A&M Raiders by a final score of 50-33 in the Boys Central Illinois Conference Tournament, Tuesday night in Shelbyville. 

 

The Maroons were led by Keaton Graves who led all scorers with 21 points, 12 of which came in the 4th quarter. Colton Walker added 10 points, while Jaeden Bell chipped in with 7. 6'4 sophomore Briggs White earned the title of Servpro of Piatt/DeWitt Counties Player of the game because while he only scored 2 points, he used his limited minutes to make a big impact on the defense and rebounding for the Maroons. 

 

The Raiders were led by Ace Spinner who scored 15 points, going 5-10 from beyond the arc. Rhett Mclain followed closely with 13 points. 

 

With the Win, the Maroons improve to 14-10 and advance to the next round of the Central Illinois Conference Tournament. The Raiders fall to 9-14. 

 

The Maroons will take on Tuscola Wednesday night at 6:00 PM in Shelbyville. 

 

Tune in to the next Clinton Maroons sports broadcast when they take on Warrensburg-Latham in high school boys basketball action on February 11. Tip off is at 7:30 PM.
