Clinton used a big first half to make easy work of Central A&M 62-32 in Central Illinois Conference high school girl's basketball action Thursday night in Moweaqua.

The Lady Maroons led 12-6 after the first quarter but pulled ahead 32-16 at the intermission and never looked back. 

Avery Smith led Clinton with 19 points. Clara Dempsey added 16 points while Lila Cluver chipped in with 14 points.

The Lady Raiders drop to 9-17 overall and 2-2 in the CIC. 

Clinton improves to 22-5 overall and 5-0 in the CIC.

Yesterday, it was announced the Lady Maroons are the seventh seed in its sub-sectional. Today (Friday), regional pairings will come out, with Clinton likely headed to Bloomington Central Catholic or Peoria Manual for Regionals.
