Clinton started slowly and could not recover, as Mt. Pulaski defeated Clinton 52-41 in non-conference high school girls basketball action Monday night.

The Lady Maroons fell behind 14-7 in the first quarter but played almost even the entire rest of the way with the Lady Hilltoppers.

Clara Dempsey was the only scorer in double figures with 14 points. Reagan Filkin added nine points.

Clinton falls to 23-6 overall. They have a quick turnaround when they travel to Cerro Gordo tonight.
