HS BBBall: Auburn Blows By Maroa-Forsyth

Auburn started fast and never looked back as they beat Maroa-Forsyth 55-44 Friday night in Sangamo Conference high school boy's basketball in Auburn.

 

Auburn led 36-16 at the break and held off a second-half charge by Maroa-Forsyth.

 

Mitch Williams scored 12 of his team-best 17 points in the second half and Caebrin Lee scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter.

 

But the short-handed Trojans did not have enough to claw back.

Kenny Morris scored nine points.

 

Maroa-Forsyth falls to 10-13 overall and 2-5 in the Sangamo Conference. They host Argenta-Oreana on Saturday afternoon. 

 

The Trojans drew the ninth seed in its Sectional. They will begin postseason play with a Monday, February 24 Regional quarterfinal matchup against Meridian in Maroa. The winner advances to take on St. Joseph-Ogden in Regional semifinal play.
