HS Baseball: Delavan Downs Clinton

A five-run fourth inning allowed Delavan to get by Clinton 12-6 in non-conference high school boy's baseball season-opening action from Delavan Monday.

 

Clinton used a four-run third inning to answer a three-run third by Delavan and tie the score at 4-4. But the Panthers scored five runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth to open the game up.

 

Delavan was led by Braden Arrenholz who finished 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, stole a base, and scored a run. Ninth-place hitter Corrie Green was 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Kelton Nafziger, Wyatt Pierson, Corbin Soldal, and Cameron McMullen drove in runs for Delavan. 

 

Pierson was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored.

 

Brock Wilson led the Maroons' offense finishing 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. Jack Manning drove in three runs finishing 1-for-2 with a double.

 

Delavan starts the season 1-0.

 

Clinton is 0-1. They will travel to Heyworth on Wednesday.
