The Monticello Sages used a productive first inning to take down the Villa Grove Blue Devils in a one-inning non-conference high school softball game in Monticello. The game was canceled after the first due to severe weather. 

The Lady Sages were led by Thea Key who had a hit, a run, and an RBI. Sadie Walsh went 1-1 while Cassidee Stoffel put up a hit and a run. Ali Weidner also had an RBI. 

Stoffel pitched a perfect inning before the game was canceled with one strikeout. 
The Blue Devils had no hits on three at-bats. 

The Lady Sages will take on Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond on Friday, first pitch is at 4:30 PM.
