Kali Kahler hit a home run and Danni Hovey was magnificent in circle to lead Maroa-Forsyth over Heyworth 5-1 in non-conference girls softball action Friday in Forsyth.
Kaler with 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the third inning for the Lady Trojans.
Hovey struck out seven across seven innings of one-run ball. She allowed four hits and walked one. Hovey also was 2-for-3 at the plate. Peyton Torbert was 2-for-3 for Maroa-Forsyth.
Gabby Dow homered for the Lady Hornets to drive in their only run.
Heyworth is 1-2. They will host St. Joseph-Ogden on Monday.
Maroa-Forsyth is 1-0. They host Eureka on Saturday morning.
