HS Baseball: Ridgeview-Lexington Downs Clinton

Micah Wiltz singled home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning and Ridgeview-Lexington edged past Clinton 3-2 in non-conference high school baseball action Friday afternoon in Lexington. 

 

Jack Manning threw five sparkling innings for the Maroons. The junior allowed two runs, one was earned, on three hits while permitting three walks and striking out three.

 

Manning also has a run-scoring hit finishing 1-for-3 with a walk. Josh Bass was 1-for-3 with a walk for Clinton. Cole Fentress was 1-for-2 with a walk.

 

Maroons batters struck out 13 times against the Minutemen pitching. Blaine Friedmansky struck out seven across four innings of one-run ball. Braden Barber earned the win with three innings of no-hit ball. He permitted an unearned run and walked two while striking out six.

 

The Maroons are 0-2 to start the season. They had two games this week rained out.

 

They will take on Cornerstone Christian Academon y Saturday morning.
