A Clinton High School track and field thrower took home a state championship this weekend.
Abi Moser won the Class 2A indoor shot put championship. After five throws, she was tenth in the standing, but her final throw was not only a personal best; she set a school record on the throw.
While unofficial, Clinton track coaches estimate there have been two other state champions for the indoor season.
Clinton's 4x800 relay team of Amerie Hemphill, Lydia Cahill, Averie Fatheree, and Aubrey Peterson finished tenth and set a school record for the indoor 4x800.
Clinton begins its outdoor season slate this weekend with a home conference meet with Central A&M.
