Mt. Pulaski used a late surge to get by Pontiac 8-3 in non-conference high school baseball action on Tuesday in Pontiac.

The Hilltoppers led 4-3 going to the seventh inning. Aaron Volle doubled in a run in the inning. He was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored. 

Chance Payne was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Eric Cooper finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs for the Hilltoppers. 

Volle picked up the win for Mt. Pulaski. He went four innings of two-run ball - both were unearend - with four strikeouts, a walk, and allowed just one hit. 

The Hilltoppers are 2-2 overall. They travel to Okaw Valley on Wednesday.
