Normal West rallied twice and avenged a Tuesday loss to Champaign Centennial with a 9-7 win on Thursday in Big 12 high school baseball action in Normal.
Chase Knuth brought home Cooper Temples with a sac fly in the fourth inning to put Normal West in front 7-6, its first lead of the afternoon.
But the Chargers tied the score in the top half of the fifth.
The Wildcats would answer the bell again as Ryder Coone scored Sean Jenkins to make it 8-7.
Jenkins' single in the sixth inning gave Normal West an insurance run.
The Chargers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the top of the second inning. Normal West answered with two in the second to cut the deficit to 3-2.
The Chargers got a run back in the top of the third to go up 4-2. The Wildcats would answer with two more runs to tie it at 4-4.
After a two-run fourth inning made it 6-4, Normal West rallied again with a three-run fourth to go up 7-6.
Torin DeLaere hit a two-run homer for the Wildcats. Jenkins drove in a team-best three runs while Templed had two RBIs.
Normal West is 7-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12. They will host Urbana on Friday.
