Normal West combined for 37 runs in a rare weekday doubleheader sweep of Urbana on Monday in a pair of 15-run rule, three-and-a-half inning wins in Urbana.
The Wildcats rolled to a 19-1 game one win, then an 18-0 game two win.
In the opener, Chase Knuth and Torin DeLaere just missed the cycle. Knuth homered, tripled, and doubled - missing the cycle by a single - with two RBIs.
DaLaere got the single but missed his cycle by a home run adding a double and triple. DaLaere drove in three runs and scored twice.
Nolan Schultz added a home run and finished with three RBIs.
In the second game, Knuth added another homer, a double, and drove three more. Drew Hart added two doubles and three RBIs. Chase Reinhart drove in three runs.
Ryder Coone tossed 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball with seven strikeouts.
With the pair of wins, Normal West is 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12. They will play at Bloomington High School on Wednesday before hosting Bloomington on Friday in more Big 12 action.
