HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Topples Pana

Ace Giles struck out eight innings in five innings of one-run ball and drove in two to lead Maroa-Forsyt over Pana 11-1 in non-conference high school baseball action on Monday in Pana.

 

Giles' only run allowed was unearend. He issued just two walks and allowed four hits. 

 

Tate Brandenburg closed the door on the win with a scoreless inning of relief. 

Brandenburg was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Giles was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and walked twice. 

 

Camden Trendler drove in two for the Trojans, who used a four-run sixth inning to go up by ten and win on a run-rule in six innings. 

 

Mitch Williams finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored at the top of the order for Maroa-Forsyth.

 

The Trojans are 5-3 overall. They will host Petersburg-PORTA on Tuesday to open Sangamo Conference action.
