Danni Hovey was terrific in circle and led Maroa-Forsyth past Petersburg-PORTA-AC Central 8-2 in Sangamo Conference high school softball action on Tuesday in Forsyth. 

Holey allowed two unearned runs with just one strikeout while issuing four walks and permitting five hits. 

Payton Torbert led the Lady Trojans at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Hovey was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. 

Taylor Crouch was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored while Kalli Kahler was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. 

Maroa-Forsyth improves to 6-2 overall and starts 1-0 in the Sangamo. They will travel to Athens on Thursday.
