Heyworth outlasted Argenta-Oreana 11-9 in a non-conference back-and-forth high school softball game in Heyworth on Tuesday. 

The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 3-1 lead early. The Lady Bombers answered with three runs in the fourth inning to go up 4-3. After Argenta-Oreana added another run in the fifth, the Lady Hornets went up 8-5 with a run in the sixth inning.

Argenta-Oreana answered with a four-run sixth inning to go up 9-8. The Lady Hornets had the final push with a three-run sixth inning for the final 11-9 score.

Grace Streenz was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Argenta-Oreana. Haley Rogers finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Sidney Ditchen and Gabby Dow each drove in two runs. 

The Lady Hornets pounded out 14 hits, all singles. Elyssa Armstrong was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Brynn Jones drove in two runs while Kharma Giles and Emmy Reynolds had two hits apiece.

The Lady Bombers are 5-8 overall.

The Lady Hornets are 3-6 overall.
