Liam Smith homered and drove in five runs as Mt. Pulaski rolled past Cerro Gordo-Bement 11-1 in a five-inning, run-rule win in non-conference high school baseball action from Cerro Gordo on Tuesday.
Smith finished 2-for-2. Aaron Volle added a homer and two RBIs. Preston Cown drove in two runs for the Hilltoppers, and Eric Cooper hit a triple, going 1-for-3.
Carter Clark fired a complete game, allowing a run on three hits with eight strikeouts.
