Maroa-Forsyth started fast, but Rantoul rallied and gradually pulled away for a 9-4 win in non-conference high school softball action on Wednesday in Forsyth.
The Lady Trojans scored three runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run groundout by Aubrey Stewart. Maroa-Forsyth led 3-0 after the first.
The Lady Eagles got two back in the second inning, tied the game in the fourth, and went up 8-3 in the top of the sixth.
Maggie Ravenscraft, Lainey Larner, and Peyton Torbert each finished 2-for-4 for the Lady Trojans. Larner had an RBI while Ravenscraft hit a double.
While allowing nine runs in circle, only two were earned for Ravenscraft. She walked five, struck out two, and permitted nine hits.
Maroa-Forsyth falls to 8-4 overall. They will travel to New Berlin on Thursday.
