HS Baseball: Normal West Blanks Champaign Central

An 8-0 over Champaign Central secured Normal West Coach Chris Hawkins his 600th career win on Wednesday in Big 12 Conference high school baseball action in Champaign.

 

Chase Reinhart went 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball to lead the Wildcats. The sophomore struck out seven and walked one, earning the win. 

 

A six-run sixth inning broke the game open for Normal West - highlighted by Brady Hart's two-run double. Ryder Coone would add a two-run double in the frame as well. 

 

Cooper Temples and Hart were each 2-for-3 at the top of the order for Normal West. The Wildcats pounded out nine hits in the game.

 

The Wildcats are 12-5 overall and improve to 6-2 in the Big 12. They are off until Saturday when they host Lake Zurich.
