Carson Dodd singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning, and New Berlin outlasted Maroa-Forsyth 1-0 in a classic Sangamo Conference high school baseball game in New Berlin on Thursday afternoon.
Reid Hepperly and Mitch Williams dealt 6-plus innings of shutout ball, and the bullpens were just as good.
Williams struck out six in 6 1/3 innings of shutout ball. He allowed two hits and issued four walks.
Hepperly struck out eight in 6 1/3 innings. He allowed three hits and a walk.
Camden Trendler took the tough luck loss for Maroa-Forsyth.
Williams, Tate Brandenburg, Ace Giles, Gunnar Larner, and Cayden Rose had hits for the Trojans.
Maroa-Forsyth falls to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Sangamo Conference. They will travel to Pontiac on Saturday.
