HS Baseball: Monticello Walks Off Williamsville

Eric Arnold singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to send Monticello to a 4-3 walk-off win over Williamsville in non-conference high school baseball action on Saturday in Monticello.

The Sages started fast with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Eli Craft doubled in a run, two batters later Colton Vance singled in a run, and Ike Young capped the scoring with an RBI double.

Williamsville got its runs back in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the score at 3-3.

Brody Biledo worked four innings of three-run ball for Monticello. The senior southpaw allowed just one earned run among the three and struck out six with two walks and permitted six hits.

Heyden Romano went three shutout innings at the start with three strikeouts and allowed three hits.

In the seventh inning, Zeke Young singled to center to start the inning. After he was sacrificed to second, Carter Foran singled softly to center not allowing Young to score.

The Bullets intentionally walked Craft, setting the stage for Arnold's base hit to right center.

Foran was 2-for-3 for Monticello. Dawson Gaitros, Creft, Arnold, Ike Young, and Zeke Young all had hits for the Sages.

Monticello is 14-3 overall. They travel to Maroa-Forsyth for a showdown with the Trojans on Monday.
