Jack Manning struck out nine in six shutout innings, leading Clinton over Riverton 5-0 in non-conference high school baseball action Saturday morning from Clinton High School.
Manning allowed just two hits and issued a walk. Colton Walker struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief to lock down the win.
Of the five runs the Marons scored, only one was via a run batted in, and that was on a Josh Bass single in the fourth inning.
Manning was 2-for-3. Bass, Ryan Pine, and Jaeden Bell had hits for Clinton.
The Marons are 7-7 overall. They travel to Rantoul on Tuesday.
