Argenta-Oreana pounded out ten hits and took advantage of six errors to beat Cerro Gordo-Bement 12-1 in Lincoln Prairie Conference high school softball on Monday in Cerro Gordo.
Elyssa Armstrong allowed and unearned runs in six innings with 12 strikeouts and permitted eight hits. She also had two RBIs while walking three times.
Pyper Jones paced the Lady Bombers offense that gradually pulled away late, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Sophia Wicklund was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Addison Maiden was 1-for-4 with two RBIs while Grace Manning finished 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
Cerro Gordo-Bement drops to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference.
With the win, Argenta-Oreana improves to 7-10 overall and 5-0 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference. They visit Champaign St. Thomas More on Tuesday.
