Chance Payne drove in three runs and Mt. Pulaski overcame five errors to beat Riverton 10-5 in non-conference high school baseball action on Monday in Riverton.
Payne was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
Jaeden Jackson allowed five unearned runs in five innings of work. He struck out two, walked one, and permitted four hits. Chase Roberts closed out the win with two shutout innings of relief - including five strikeouts.
Liam Smith doubled for Mt. Pulaski, and Preston Cowan was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
With the victory, Mt. Pulaski goes to 11-2 overall. They are at Heyworth on Tuesday.
