HS Softball: Clinton Run Rules Shelbyville

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Lady Maroons scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and defeated the Shelbyville Lady Rams by a final score of 16-1 in four and two-thirds innings of Central Illinois Conference high school softball action. 


The Maroons were led by the Servpro of Piatt/DeWitt counties player of the game, Ariana Humes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Avery Smith was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Riley Fentress went 1-for-2 and had a two-run homerun. 


In circle, Aliviyah Haynes pitched all four innings for the Maroons. She allowed one run on two hits, struck out six, and issued two walks. 


The Rams were led by Kyndall Bennett, who went 0-for-1 with a walk and a run scored. Alex Jokisch was 1-for-1 while Braylen Voudrie went 1-for-2. 


Jasmine Wildman spent three innings in circle for the Rams. She allowed six runs on five hits and committed four errors. She struck out four and issued two walks. 


With the win, the Maroons improve to 5-9 while the Rams fall to 1-12.


The Lady Maroons will have a break for the weekend and travel to Meridian on Monday.
