HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Blanks Casey-Westfield

Maroa-Forsyth blanked Casey-Westfield 8-0 in non-conference high school baseball action on Friday afternoon in Forsyth.

 

Maroa-Forsyth jumped out early in the first. Mitch Williams singled, and Tate Brandenburg followed with a double. Giles then drove in a run with a sac-fly and Gunnar Larner grounded out to score another, making it 2-0.

 

The Trojans broke the game open with a four-run third. Brandenburg singled to start the inning. Larner later singled to bring in Brandenburg, and Camden Trendler delivered a big blow, a two-run single. A Colby Parrott groundout brought in another run.

 

Brandenburg led the offense, going 3-for-4 and scoring twice. Ace Giles had two hits and two RBIs. Larner also had two hits and two RBIs. Trendler chipped in with two RBIs, and Grady Rose added two hits and one RBI.

 

Giles five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. Camden Trendler and Cayden Rose each pitched a clean inning to secure the shutout.

 

The Trojans are 11-5 overall. They host Olympia on Tuesday.
