Heyworth swept a doubleheader against Delavan on Saturday with victories of 9-5 and 7-5 in non-conference high school softball action in Delavan.
In the opener, Lauryn Streenz got the scoring started with an RBI single, followed by a key two-run double from Emily Rogers. Gabby Dow then capped off the early onslaught with a two-run single.
Dow pitched a complete game for Heyworth, securing the victory.
Streenz went 2-for-4, and Natalie Kopp went 2-for-3. Dow went 1-for-4 with three RBIs.
In the second game, an RBI double from Sidney Ditchen and a crucial RBI double from Kopp put Heyworth out in front early. Kopp also earned the win in circle, pitching a complete game for Heyworth.
Kopp went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Rogers finished 2-for-3 while Ditchen went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Heyworth improves to 5-10 overall. They host El Paso-Gridley in Heart of Illinois Conference play on Monday.
