Normal West made easy work for Peoria High in a pair of shutout, ten-run rule victories on Monday in Big 12 Conference high school baseball action from Normal.
The Wildcats set the tone for the day with a dominant 15-0 victory in the first game in three innings. A six-run first inning, a four-run second, and a five-run third paced a balanced day for Normal West.
Chase Knuth's double in the first inning drove in Brady Hart.
Sean Jenkins fired a three-inning shutout with eight strikeouts.
Chase Reinhart was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Brady Hart finished 2-for-2 while Knuth was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Sean Jenkins hit a triple with an RBI.
The Wildcats ran away with a 19-0 win in just two innings in the second game.
A 12 runs first set the tone early. Chase Reinhart scored Nolan Schultz, Ryder Coone scored Sean Jenkins, Sam McCully scored Gage Flairty, and Brady Pollett scored Reagan Williams with hits. Flairty also had a double in the inning.
Reinhart was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Coone finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Reagan Williams had two RBIs for Normal West.
Normal West goes to 15-8 overall and 9-3 in the Big 12. The Wildcats are off until Friday when they host Danville in Big 12 Conference play.
