HS Softball: Argenta-Oreana Defeats Clinton

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Lady Maroons fell to the Argenta-Oreana Lady Bombers by a final score of 15-0 in four and two-thirds innings of non-conference high school softball action in Clinton. 


The Maroons were led by Avery Smith. She went 1-for-2 and recorded the only hit for the Maroons. 


Aliviyah Haynes spent all four innings in circle for the Maroons. She allowed 15 runs on 16 hits and walked two. 


The Bombers had a well-rounded offense with seven of nine batters recording a hit. Kharma Giles went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Pyper Jones was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. 


Elyssa Armstrong dominated in circle for the Bombers, she allowed no runs on one hit, struck out seven and issued no walks. 


With the loss, the Maroons fall to 5-11 while the Bombers improve to 11-9. 
The Maroons will play host to Tuscola on Wednesday. 


Argenta-Oreana has a break until Thursday when they take on ALAH.
