HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Downs Olympia

Mitch Williams and Ace Giles drove in two runs apiece to lead Maroa-Forsyth past Olympia 11-1 in a run-rule win in Sangamo Conference high school baseball action from Forsyth on Tuesday.

 

Williams singled in a run in the third to get the Trojans on the baord and two batters later Gunnar Larner hit a sac fly to right that brought Williams home in a three-run frame. 

 

In the fifth, Williams doubled in a run to put Maroa-Forsyth up 10-1, and Giles ended the game with a single to center that scored Williams and gave the Trojans the ten-run rule win.

 

Williams led the charge for the Trojans, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Giles finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Cooper Wise was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Grady Rose drove in two runs for Maroa-Forsyth.

 

Cayden Rose earned the win on the mound, tossing five innings and allowing just a run on six hits while striking out four.

 

Maroa-Forsyth improves to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the Sangamo. They visit Argenta-Oreana on Wednesday.
