In a game heard on WEZC and online at dewittdailynews.com, Cassidee Stoffel twirled a perfect game over four innings, and Monticello routed Urbana 15-0 in a four-inning, run-rule win on Tuesday in non-conference high school softball from Monticello.
Stoffel struck out nine, including the last seven she faced, and set down all 12 batters to earn the ServPro of Piatt/DeWitt Counties player of the game.
Stoffel was also 3-for-3 with four RBIs at the plate. Sadie Walsh finished 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs. Thea Key was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Ashley Stiverson added a double, and Madison Highland legged out a triple in the contest.
The Lady Sages are 17-5 overall. They will host Bloomington Central Catholic on Thursday.
