HS Baseball: Clinton Takes Down Tuscola

In a game heard on WHOW and all its digital platforms, the Clinton Maroons defeated the Tuscola Warriors by a final score of 5-1 in seven innings of Central Illinois Conference high school baseball action on Wednesday night in Clinton. 


The Maroons were led by Jack Manning, who went the distance on the mound. He allowed one unearned run on four hits, struck out six, and issued two walks. He also went 1-for-3 with a run scored, which earned him the title of Servpro of Piatt/DeWitt Counties Player of the Game. 


Colton Walker went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jaxon Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Josh Bass went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and walked twice. 


The Warriors were led by Caiden Russo, who went 2-for-3, while Connor Musgraves went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jon Pettry also went 1-for-3. 


Russo allowed five runs on five hits, struck out three, and issued 4 walks. 


With the win, the Maroons improve to 10-10 while Tuscola falls to 8-16. 


Tuscola will host Meridian on Friday. 


Clinton will go on the road on Wednesday to Warrensburg-Latham, first pitch at 4:30 PM.
