Normal West shut out Danville 11-0 in Big 12 Conference high school baseball from Normal on Friday.
The Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the second when Brady Hart hit an RBI single, scoring Cooper Temples.
The floodgates opened in the bottom of the third, as Normal West exploded for six runs. Cooper Temples led off the inning with a triple. Later, Hart drove in Temples with a single. Sam McCully then blasted a triple, scoring Chase Knuth.
The Wildcats added another run in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 11-0 victory.
McCully finished 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs. Temples was 2-for-4 with two triples. Hart had an RBI.
Hart went five shutout innings allowing just one hit and striking out nine.
Normal West goes to 16-8 overall and 10-3 in the Big 12. They host Maine South on Saturday.
