HS Baseball: Maroa-Forsyth Walks Off Prairie Central

Issac Haynes walked with the bases loaded to bring in the winning run, capping a Maroa-Forsyth rally over Prairie Central 7-6 in non-conference high school baseball action on Saturday in Forsyth.

 

Prairie Central jumped out to an early lead, scoring one run in the first and four more in the second to take a 5-0 advantage. The Trojans began to chip away at the lead in the bottom of the third, scoring two runs, and added another two in the bottom of the fifth, making the score 5-4 in favor of Prairie Central. The Hawks added another run in the top of the fifth, extending their lead to 6-4.

 

Trailing 6-4 going to the bottom of the seventh, Tate Brandenburg reached on an error, followed by a single from Gunnar Larner.

 

Grady Rose then walked to load the bases. Camden Trendler drew another walk, forcing in Brandenburg to tie the game at 6-6. 

 

Hanes drew a walk, forcing in the winning run. 

 

Hanes earned the win, pitching two scoreless innings of relief.

 

Maroa-Forsyth goes to 19-7 overall. They begin the final week of the regular season with a match at Arthur-Okaw Christian on Monday.
