Mahomet-Seymour took down Heyworth 8-3 in non-conference high school softball action on Monday from Heyworth.
After falling behind 2-0, Grace Streenz doubled on a line drive to right field, driving in Natalie Kopp and Paylin Williams, tying the score at 2-2.
Mahomet-Seymour responded with more runs to retake the lead and secure the win.
Kopp led the Lady Hornets, going 2-for-3, while Streenz had a double and two RBIs. Haley Rogers also contributed with a hit and scored a run.
Kopp pitched a complete game for Heyworth and took the loss.
The Lady Hornets drop to 9-16 overall. They host Decatur St. Teresa on Wednesday.
