HS Baseball: Clinton Downs El Paso-Gridley in Weather Shortened Game

Clinton beat the weather and El Paso-Gridley 5-4 in non-conference high school baseball action on Monday in Clinton

 

With the weather bearing down on Clinton, the game was shortened after five innings, and the Maroons were in the lead.

 

The Titans took an early lead, scoring three runs in the top of the third.

 

Clinton responded in the bottom of the inning when Ryan Pine singled, driving in Jaxon Reynolds, making the score 3-1. Clinton added another run in the bottom of the 4th when Jack Manning's single scored a run and closed the gap to 3-2. 

 

Reynolds went 1-for-2 with a double while Pine was 1-for-3, driving in one. Jack Manning was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Colton Walker also scored a run in his 1-for-2 outing.

 

Manning earned the win on the mound for the Maroons, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

 

Clinton is 15-15 overall. They will travel to Forsyth to take on Maroa-Forsyth on Tuesday.
